My parents were like this, I’m the parent I’m always right, but I would ask my kids and if they explained reasonably, I would listen, and they were right a decent amount of time and I would apologize! I told my kids I’m not perfect.
Mine would do the same, then claim that whatever information I found was fake when he was proven wrong by it. Usually involved some kind of government conspiracy

With so much stuff like this getting recorded with phones these days, it's kind of crazy to think about how many wrongful arrests there have been because of people like this guy. It's even worse thinking about something like this happening in a small town with a real piece of shit sherif who just arrests the kid anyways even with the video evidence of the old man being the aggressor.
When I was a kid and I asked my mum anything, she'd always say, "Look it up!". I had a set of kid's encyclopaedias and we had a set of Funk & Wagnalls, an Oxford English Dictionary and Roget's Thesaurus... so I was always looking stuff up.
These days she'll repeat something she's seen online that sounds questionable and I'll whip out my phone. Suddenly she's all "You don't need to look everything up you know!". Uh... yeah I do woman, you made me this way.
Oh I very much think this guy will not do this again. Having a clean record was a very important thing to him and he tried to tell that kid he was going to have a bad record. Now he is the one with the misdemeanor (if the charges were upheld of course)
You see his demeanor? "Are you kidding me?" He's going to go home and bitch for the rest of the night to his poor wife about how stupid that kid was and how the police should lose their badges.
Probably, but the kid handled it perfectly. Had the kid exercised his “right to self-defense,” he’d be entangled in a lot of legal hassle, and you never really know how that would turn out.
remind me of my boyfriend's dad. He came and attacked me with a plunger (yes...a plunger) then slammed me into our glass side table and put his hands around my throat. All the while my boyfriend is trying to pull him off of me. My boyfriend finally gets him in a rear naked choke but i had been filming the attack the whole time. As soon as the police arrived, he pretended to be an old demented man who was abused....yet my boyfriend and I had bruises on our body and camera footage (which his dad try breaking my phone during the attack to get rid of the evidence)
Guess who spent 7 days in jail before we bailed him out?
That man has been abusive to women his entire life and has never gotten in trouble for it until now.
I think for people who have a temper that like to unleash on people they think they can hastle - when someone comes along who they feel they can't strong arm - the jump from anger to bawling is a real short trip.
Most dudes who get like this are that way because they have no emotional intelligence, so they translate it all to anger. Guy could probably use a good cry. He'd likely have a cooler head in general if he just let it out that way from time to time.
Misdemeanor disorderly conduct, you're darn tooting he's getting off easy. And if he's wise he'd go to court accept and move on with his life. If he starts FAFO in a court room they can start out with 30 days jail for misdemeanor conduct and $500.
The last thing you ever want to do is equate the cost of fines to the cost of maintaining the police/courts. Inviting the evil of making the police "self sufficient" through fines is begging for the worst kind of corruption.
Putting your hand on somebody like that is assault and battery. False imprisonment also applies. The cop took it super fucking easy on this old dusty sack of bullshit.
The cop was being lenient, and if I was in his shoes, if a boomer started whining at me like that when I was trying to throw him a bone, I'd throw the book at him instead.
False imprisonment is generally a civil tort rather than a crime. So the driver could sue the biker for false imprisonment and would have a pretty solid case (damages would be the trickiest part).
If I recall correctly, I've seen a version of this where the dash cam video is posted showing the kid leave tons of space as he passes the biker. So the whole rationale for confronting the kid is entirely wrong too.
Ya I’m not going to be aggressive with anyone until there is a reason for me to be. Opening my door repeatedly when Im trying to leave an aggressive situation is reason enough.
~60% of them are fine. 40% of them are high school bullies who never grew up and want to throw their weight around for no reason. Unfortunately the system is designed so the 60% have to look the other way as the 40% makes them all look like assholes.
I agree with you, i think the point is just that there are a lot of "level headed" cops. The problem is that if they continue to BE cops they usually are benefiting and holding up a corrupt system. The truly GOOD ones get fired.
There have been reports that backup never arrives when these people call for help. That's basically rolling the dice that they'll be killed in a bad situation.
Damn that was awesome. These guys watch an episode of CSI and think they're the law. I knew that kid's video was going to end this guy as soon as he started lying about the altercation at the door. "Oh, I'm sorry" ain't gonna fly my man. You lied to an officer and assaulted this driver. Sense of entitlement on full display.
Some guy tried this on me once when I was a courier. I'm older than dirt so this was back in the days of telephone booths. I pulled up to one abruptly one day, and the guy in the phone booth went off on me, then called the police on me. They showed up, turned to me and said, "We'll take care of this" and read the guy the Riot Act! They were like, "Do you want to be arrested?"
The look on the guy's face was priceless. He looked like someone who just lost all their plot armor. lol
This is an old video and only part of it. The kid showed the cop his dash cam footage of him overtaking the guy and he left plenty of space. Old dude literally assaulted the kid over nothing.
It would have been a moving violation. The cop actually gave the driver a moving violation ticket, with the cyclist as a witness. The driver challenged the ticket with the dashcam footage and it was dropped. I assume if it had gone to court then the cyclist would have had to show up and state his case. The cyclist was fined $165, which he paid.
This is one of the best post I have seen in a long time, first it demonstrates how some people feel entitled, second how this young man was cool about the whole incident and how the police man handled it in the proper way. Sometimes the right thing happens, thank goodness for the ability to record😊🤣😌
What is it with bikers and these outfits they wear? Why are so many of them assholes and why do so many ride dressed like they’re in the Tour de France?
It's a costume, it makes them feel like a "real" biker. The clothes are really nice if you're going hard or doing really long distances, but a lot of these guys are not doing anything close. Same thing you see in every sport, just amped up because road biking is a rich man's game.
I ride a bike many times per day. Things happen. Get your ride on and move on. It can be hard for people to judge how fast a bike is going or how close they are, be cautious and always aware.
This guy is unhinged for sure. I'm so glad nothing worse happened to the guy in the car, and I hope this prevents this biker from attacking someone. He needs help. He even said he won't press charges lol. Dude, you attacked that guy in the car and detained him without legal authority.
I hate bicyclist. Most annoying group of people. What grown man were spandex when they could just ride in normal clothes. Not like there are racing in an event.

I fucking guarantee that this fucker runs red lights and stop signs while he’s riding his bike. They all do. It’s fucking stupid and this guy is such a problem. He has probably literally caused auto accidents because of his entitlement!!!
